King of Anime: Chapter Zero

*An assembly is called to order inside a Grand Council Hall... the council consists of main characters from anime, manga, and anime-styled games... at the highest seat of the council is a familiar person... with a familiar yellow creature perched on his shoulder...*



: I have called this council to order, on the grounds of something of great importance.

: What is it, Ash?

: Yeah. Is there another virus in someone's program?

: Worse...

: What could be so dire that His Majesty would call this meeting to order?

: That's... just it...

: What?

: He's... come down with a sudden case of..... death.



*A chilling silence fills the room... and then everyone starts panicking.*



: This is terrible! What are we gonna do?!

: Everyone, please! Calm down!

Belldandy: How?! Without a King, viruses are SURE to disrupt programs everywhere, causing a total collapse of our entire existence!

: Fear not... I came prepared.

: What is it?

: We need to find a new King... Noruta wanted me to do this, in case anything ever happened to him...

: But how? We can't directly interact with the World Upstairs...

: We won't... but these will. *gets out a deck of identical Tarot Cards... all of them have a white crown on them, but one has a stylized "D" on its crown*

: What are those?

: These are King's Arcana. I will distribute these all across the World Upstairs.

: But we only need one King.

: *shows them the card with the D on it* This one will be the one that decides our King. It will automatically go to whoever is most qualified.

: Then why use all the rest?

: To avoid suspicion. The key to this operation is secrecy... if we were to automatically select a King without a proper cover-up, there would be mass mayhem and world-wide panic. If we make it appear as a lottery, no one will suspect a thing.

: I see... genius, bro!

: Thanks. Now... computer. Distribute these all across the World Upstairs.

Computer: Right away, sir. *does so*



*The computer sends the cards through a rift in universe, and the cards scatter all across our world...*



: So... what now?

: Now, we wait... and see who has been chosen to be our new King...



And so, the story begins...
